Carmen Yague - KPJAYI Authorized Teacher
Be steadfast in yoga. Perform your duty and abandon all attachment to success or failure. Such evenness of mind is yoga. Bhagavad Gita 2.48.
Carmen developed an interest in philosophy and spirituality from a young age. Her first contact with yoga was in 2004 at the Sivananda Center in Madrid, her hometown.
After some years exploring different disciplines, in 2010 she was introduced to Ashtanga yoga and started a regular practice in Dublin, where she lived for two years. In 2013 she took on an intensive program with Tim Miller in California and moved to London at the end of that year. This was a turning point in Carmen´s life, as she would meet two of the teachers that have influenced her the most: Adam Keen and Hamish Hendry.
With Adam, she learned about Ashtanga technique, working with bodies and handling a Mysore room. Under Hamish, whom she started to study in 2015, she deepened her understanding of yoga as a discipline that stretches out beyond the asana.
In 2015 Carmen made her first trip to Mysore (India) to study with yoga guru Sharath Jois. She came back to Mysore in 2016, 2017 and 2018 and received the KPJAYI Level I Authorization to share this method.
Carmen currently practices the Intermediate Series of Ashtanga yoga and is daily inspired by the power of this beautiful discipline, which she passionately shares with faith, love, and humor!
